Research & Planning: Influences

Here are a couple of horror films that have influenced us by the use of micro elements.

Shrooms

This film has influenced us by the use of Mise-En-Scene, the dark woodland area, helped us to decided where our location will be.

Paranormal Activity
This has influenced us mainly on the cinematography and editing, the quick camera movements and quick cuts help build suspense and the dark blue tinge gives us this cold haunted feel, we would like to achieve this in our own film trailer to receive the same effect from an audience as this film does.

Wrong Turn
The use of editing at the start (00:20-00:37) has influenced us when creating the animation story board, as we thought we could use articles ideas to identify the scarecrow to our audience, telling the myth.

The Blair Witch Project
Finally this film has been our greatest influence due to the narrative as we have worked around it forming our own, the cinematography gives the film a great advantage as we almost feel like were living the experience and this is what we want in out trailer, the fact that they show a small amount of footage leaves the audience questioning is a advertisement tool as they would want to go watch the film at the cinema is what a trailer aims to achieve and this film has done this.
